About the business and the role
Townsville Yacht Club offers a range of quality services to our valued members and guests including functions, conferences, weddings, birthdays, wakes and Sailing & boating events. We trade 5 days a week from Wednesday to Sunday offering excellent facilities including a licensed restaurant, bar and function spaces.
An opportunity has become available for a passionate, hands-on Function Supervisor / Coordinator to join our Food and Beverage team to help deliver a superior functions and events experience at Townsville Yacht Club.
As Function Supervisor / Coordinator you will work closely with our Restaurant Manager, Head Chef and Administration Coordinator to ensure seamless delivery of functions from start to finish. The role will be broken up into administration tasks, customer liaison both face to face and by telephone, staff meetings and hands on delivery of functions and events as well as general bar and restaurant service.
You will handle all incoming enquiries and work closely with the Food and Beverage team to create new events for our members and guests. This role works a varied roster from Tuesday to Saturday with flexibility to meeting customer needs, supervising and running functions, assisting in the bar and restaurant service.
Your responsibilities may include:
Provide prompt, friendly, customer focused service to patrons
Answering phone calls, taking function queries and managing restaurant and function bookings
Respond to enquiries in a timely manner
Use your sales and upselling skills to book great functions and events
Plan, organise, set, coordinate and supervise functions and events
Assist the food and beverage team with restaurant and bar service.
Develop a working knowledge of all Club activities
Various Club administration tasks
Processing cash and EFTPOS transactions
Computer system use (POS systems and/or membership and booking systems)
Keeping our facility clean, tidy, hygienic, and safe
Ideal skill of the Candidate (before applying, ask yourself if you can demonstrate the following attributes):

Current RSA Certificate
Computer literacy with experience using Microsoft Office products
