Welcome to the Townsville Yacht Club!

Townsville Yacht Club has a state of the art marina, as well as brand new bar, restaurant dining, function and conference facilities.

The Club has recently undertaken a massive transformation with a brand new marina and a refurbished Club.  Some may not recognize the name but be assured the hospitality is just the same.

The Club which has been trading and serving the boating community in North Queensland for over sixty years has reinvented the meaning of top of the line amenities and infrastructure.  Most would remember the Club as the Townsville Motor Boat Club or more recently as the Townsville Motor Boat & Yacht Club. The change is in name only, all are welcome to come and enjoy our facilities.

Townsville Yacht Club is one of the Palmer Street eating precinct’s more hidden gems, but with its refurbished bar and soon to arrive extended waterside deck the secret will not be safe for long.  Relax in the bar overlooking the marina with the bi-fold doors fully opened bringing the outside in. The restaurant is open 7 days for lunch and dinner with 3 dining areas and a lounge.  Our function facilities are state of the art and can cater for up to 300 at any one time.

We offer a very reasonable membership with valuable benefits, and also welcome visitors to enjoy a meal, glass of wine, the boats bobbing on the water and the bright lights of Flinders Street East.

Our marina was completed in June 2009 with new fingers carrying 165 berths including regatta berths.  It is well and truly on the map as a destination or stop over.

All of our berths are available for short and long term rental at prices competitive with other eastern sea board marinas.  Our rates depreciate the longer you stay, and who wouldn't want to linger longer with the club situated within walking distance to the city heart, museums, the Strand and all Townsville has to offer.

The Townsville Cruising Yacht Club (TCYC) is a subcommittee of the Townsville Yacht Club who are responsible for the promotion and organisation of yachting events. TCYC's signature event is the Sunferries Magnetic Island Race Week (www.magneticislandraceweek.com.au) held in early September each year. This is one of the fastest growing Regattas in Australia, experiencing strong growth in entrants each year.

The TCYC also hosts regular racing for Yachts each year. Competition for the Commodore’s Cup takes place between late February and late October and consists of a combination of offshore and inshore racing.
